HEERLEN, The Netherlands, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- About one year after its establishment in May 2007, tedrive is positioned as the expert for driveshafts, differentials and steering systems. The start of production on new orders in 2010 will give the automotive supplier major impulse.
tedrive has booked new orders, follow-up business, spare parts supplies and a range of development contracts in all three product groups. They include activities with BMW, Daimler, Ford, PSA Peugeot-Citroën, Volkswagen and Volvo.
The production start of several new car programmes will culminate in 2010. tedrive do Brasil in Cumbica near Sao Paulo, for example, has been awarded a contract from PSA Peugeot-Citroën to produce hydraulic power steering systems for a future Citroën model. Wuelfrath, Germany-based tedrive Steering will supply steering gears to Volvo. tedrive Germany, based in Dueren, will be supplying driveshafts with integrated linkshafts to Ford for a compact car.
"We're focused on advanced engineering concepts in close collaboration with our customers, for example in the form of development workshops," said Kersten Janik, tedrive group CEO. "Our product innovations include the torque/package-optimised differential and the steel steering gear housing. Our newly set up Driveshaft Engineering unit is concentrating on high-performance driveshafts.
With a positive bottom line in the abridged 2007 fiscal year, the tedrive group has met its profit target for its formation phase. The company managed to moderately increase its sales figure for the full-year 2007 from EUR480 million to around EUR500 million. The sales prognosis for 2008 remains at the 2007 level. A significant rise in sales is expected as of 2010 and a somewhat steeper growth curve thereafter.
tedrive has taken root on the automotive supplier market, and the group's five locations in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Brazil are oriented to the future. The continued global growth of the group is on track. The lifting of synergy potential is being prepared in the fields of development, manufacturing, purchasing and sales in the high-growth BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
